Bio

Jeanne Moreau Caldarera is the 8th of 10 children. Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to “Coach” Al and Lilla May Heck Moreau, she says that her family was a readily available audience.

There was always someone to play with, and many people–cousins from various parts of the state and country–to imitate.  “We spent time making the most of ‘rest time’ in the afternoons writing bogus commercials–complete with jingles–and imitating siblings, parents, aunts, uncles, and neighbors.”

Jeanne had always wanted to be on stage. Like many performers, her confidence was shaky until her children were grown. “When my last of my three sons graduated from high school, I decided it was my turn.”  She started taking classes and was immediately cast as the lead in her local community theater performance of LATER LIFE, where she won the People’s Choice Award. She also started taking Improv class with teacher and improviser extraordinaire Yvonne Landry. Lance Nichols was pivotal in her career. Jim Gleason also helped her to hone her craft. She quickly was signed with an agency and began booking commercials.  Later, her agents, classes, and roles changed to accommodate her growing craft.

Jeanne has been seen on television in shows such as TREME, MEMPHIS BEAT, NCIS NEW ORLEANS, and others.  Her film career includes roles in LBJ, directed by Rob Reiner and starring Woody Harrellson, CREATED EQUAL, directed by Predator’s Bill Duke and starring Lou Diamond Phillips, and short film LAST LIGHT, which won the Louisiana International Film Festival in 2017.

Jeanne is presently working on two movies.  She spends time with her husband, Steve, and is planning a wedding for one of her three sons.
